About the Schools of the Future project
The project, called “Schools of the Future”, is mainly funded by ASML Foundation and it aims to improve the technical level of unprivileged high schools in Maputo, Mozambique.
Schools of the Future is an educational project of Engineers Without Borders NL (www.ewbnl.org). The project is mainly funded by ASML Foundation and by an NGO in Mozambique (AVSI, www.avsi.org/en/).

The core of “Schools of the Future” consists of interactive workshops based on basic technological tool-kits. These tool-kits are modular in order to be able to expand them in the following implementations of the project.
In the short term, the project aims to show to the students that technology can help them and that they can help themselves if they find a way to learn about technology.
The long-term goal is to facilitate their possibilities of pursuing a technical career (for example, by including our workshops in the curriculum of their schools and by helping them on applying for scholarships).
During the first two field trips more than 200 students were involved and the feedback from the schools and the students was so positive that we are going to expand it to other locations and countries.
